Just some fun – Butterfly Flight

Most of my work is now hosted on my tumblr and instagram, but I wanted to give this site some attention as well. I’m learning a new game engine, so here is the fruit of some of the particle experiments!

The Turning

So it begins! A new foray into the world of digital art. It’s been ages, but the best way to improve is to constantly do, make, create, and share. Not gonna lie, I feel very rusty, but it’s time. I’m excited to fill this place with sketches, final renders, pixel art, 3D art, vectors, and […]

Concept Art: Geometric Trees/Mountains

I’ve been playing around with new-to-me 3D software, Modo. These images are renders photoshoped with some details. The idea is an autumn-themed game level (hence the dark sky) in which you encounter Russian nesting owls that need your help. The trees and scenery will reflect […]

Drawn To You – Global Game Jam 2015

Sunlight is setting on your idyllic cabin in the woods. You (or your loved one) develop an illness and progressively get sicker as you take a stroll through the foliage. What do you do now? Do you stay, or do you go? Together, your lights are brighter, and you joyfully harmonize. Apart, you are dim […]

GGJ 2014 – Cyto

Our global game jam entry for 2014. The theme was, “We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are”. Our goal was to create a visual tone poem around this concept about being a tiny part of something much much bigger (which in turn is a tiny part of something […]

Global Game Jam 2013 – The Line

The Line This year the Cleveland Game Developers participated in another amazing Global Game Jam (#5!)! The theme of the 48 hour world-wide game-making even was the sound of a heartbeat. Moly Jam 2012

The FIRST EVER Moly Jam! Scattered (‘inspirational’) tweets set the tone of our jamming experience to be, well, interesting. Here is the fruit of the jam weekend: Play it here! Description You are a bear. You have a secret mission. You do not know the mission. It is too high-clearance for mere aqua-bears to know. You […]

Global Game Jam 2012

Around sometime near the end of Janurary 2012, this event happened. Sleep-deprivated, geeked-out, Dew-fueled Game Devers created a score of games within 48 hours. What a great time. Here are some disconnected images and scattered thoughts around our team game, ‘Orbrs,’ a Unity-Blender-Aftereffects powered game of joy and death. Not overly ambitious…   ORBRS: Team […]

Weightlessly, beside

Weightlessly, beside

Today’s pictures were born from the dark matter star nursery that is a random word generator. “Weightlessly beside” and “frozen below” were the starting points. I used the same shapes for both images, playing with color and placement. The second image reminds me of a fighting fish alone and trapped under ice.

Daily Pixel: #40 Ingenious Festivius

Hello there super-mega-masterminds! I’ve just finished photo-dumping memories from the past few weekends. The first event I would like to share is Ingenuity Fest. What an awesome/inspiring weekend – and the weather even decided to share in the Cleveland’s joy as well. Not that this matters; the whole event took place under a bridge. I’m […]

Daily Pixel: #39 Registration and Blocks

Hallo! Welcome to another image set. Today, I used my long-lost (and underused) block-printing skill set to help make the CD covers for Lowly, The Tree Ghost. The way the band is going about the album is pretty neat – 100% post-consumer recycled cases. This leaves plenty of room for block printing craziness! I can’t […]

This is the title page artwork for Chapter 2 of the Freebie Mini Sketchbook Series (‘You are so very special and that is why’). The paper in this uber-mini sketchbook is very small squared graph paper. The image is what I was going for – mostly. I’ve bound and printed 2 dozen of this batch […]
